We must have done a few things right and not too much wrong. Our kids left the nest at the appropriate time but didn't stray far from our heart home. They made it easy for us to follow - traveling from their Midwest nest to the same Southwest college. The cross country trek from Chicago to Arizona isn't for everyone, but it was a homecoming for us. Our family spent many summers and winter holidays in Phoenix with my parents. so moving west wasn't a foreign idea. The silver lining is Nick met Lizzy at NAU and married in February, 2011. Today, on Mother's Day, they gave me the best gift of all.
